Presentation of Information on Monitoring of Economic Development

On May 18, 2017 at the Serena Hotel, on the initiative of the Finance and Economics Institute of Tajikistan under the Project «Support to selected areas of the public finance management reform, Lot 1», funded by the European Union the information on monitoring the economic development of the Republic of Tajikistan was presented. The event was opened by Machey Madalinskiy - Advisor, head of the cooperation department of the EU Delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan. Then, the Advisor of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on economic issues Ashurboy Solehzoda, the Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan Jamshed Nurmuhammadiyon, the Chairman of the Committee on Economy, Budget and Taxation of the Majlisi Namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Sharif Rakhimzoda, the Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Ikromi, Rector of Finance and Economics Institute of Tajikistan Kudrat Davlatzoda and others made speech.
It was noted that this project has been implemented in the Finance and Economics Institute of Tajikistan since 2015; the results have been achieved in this direction. One of the achievements is the publication of the Information of the Intellectual Center of the Institute on monitoring the economic development of Tajikistan, which has no analogues among the universities, institutions and ministries of the country.
The fourth stage of the EU Project aims to establish an analytical center in FEIT, where research laboratories will be provided with the involvement of international experts.
Rector of FEIT Davlatzoda Kudrat noted that the improvement of the survey activity, contributing to the strengthening of the intellectual potential of the Institute, promotes the strengthening of cooperation with state structures and international organizations.
Think Tank – «Intellectual Center» FEIT presented information on monitoring the economic development of the Republic of Tajikistan, the presentation covered the full economic analysis of recent years in Tajikistan.
Then, the experts made speech, including: Elena Sharipova, an expert of the EU project  on topic «The ways of conducting research and developing recommendations in the field of economic policy of Tajikistan»; Zokir Hushmuhammadzoda - Think Tank researcher - on the topic «GDP structure and economic development of Tajikistan»; Khushbakht Akhmedov - Think Tank researcher from FEIT - on the topic «Public finance - income dynamics and budget expenditures in recent years»; Azima Rakhimova - Think Tank researcher from FEIT - on the topic «Banking structure of Tajikistan - analysis of the state and recommendations for further development».
Thus, the participants' attention was focused on such issues as: assessing the economic state of the country, developing recommendations for strengthening economic development, improving the banking system and implementing fiscal policy.
An interesting and contentious dispute arose between the meeting participants after each speech.
It should be noted that the second edition of the Information on Monitoring the Economic Development of the Republic of Tajikistan is one of the important steps for the establishment of the Analytical Center in order to develop and implement a mechanism for providing political consultations to the Government.
