The Problems of the Modern Banking System were Discussed

On October 30, 2017 on the initiative of the Finance and Credit Faculty and Banking Department the seminar on theme «The Stability of  the Banking System in the Conditions of an Increasing Threat of External Factors» was held at the Finance and Economics Institute of Tajikistan. Vice-rector for scientific work of FEIT, PhD in Economics, associate professor Firuz Kodirov opened the seminar, who noted that the stability of the banking system plays an important role in improving the well-being of the population. Unfortunately, in recent years a number of system banks of the country have faced a crisis of liquidity and solvency, which caused a rise in the population's distrust to the banking system.
The participants of the seminar listened and discussed the reports of the main specialists of the Department of International Reserves Management and the Exchange Rate Policy of the National Bank of Tajikistan Umeda Yatimova on the theme «The Problems and Forecasts of the Development of the Banking System» and Mahmudjon Buriev on theme «Monetary Policy and its Forecasts in the Development of the Banking System». The authors of the reports noted that the banking system of Tajikistan is in crisis, especially commercial banks. The cause of problems in the banking system is associated with ineffective management and low management skills. An effective use of modern information and communication technologies and improving the quality of customer service is important to overcome the crisis.
In the final part of the event the participants received exhaustive answers to their numerous questions.
