Regional workshops on PFM awareness with tutors of the TSUFE
On September 26, 2019 a workshop on “PFM awareness with tutors of the Tajik State University of Finance and Economics (TSUFE)” was held at the Principal Financial Department in Khatlon oblast, Bokhtar City, initiated by Component 4 EU PFM Reform Support Project: Lot1.
The workshop was opened by expert of the EU project «Support to selected areas of PFM reforms: Lot 1” Iskandar Davlatov, and then the Head of the TSUFE financial management department Sh. Nurov , and tutors of this department E. Mirzoyeva, M. Hakimova, as well as an international expert on the EU project “Support to certain areas of PFM reform: Lot 1” G. Kurlyandskaya were deliver a presentations.
The regional workshop addressed the challenges and issues associated with the efficient use of budget funds, the main direction of fiscal policy and the prospects for PFM in the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as the role of local budgets in the budget system: international experience (using the example of Russia and Kazakhstan).
During the seminar, three interactive workshops were held by TSUFE tutors in accordance with their presentation topics. After the presentation, the participants received answers to their many questions.
Since the beginning of its activity in 2015, within the framework of the EU project “Supporting certain areas of PFM reform: Lot 1”, there has been an increase in the quality of education at the TSFEU due to the implementation of the following measures:
- Self-assessment of TSFEU and measurement of progress in accordance with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG).
- The participation of teachers in research and publications has intensified.
- Certification of teachers is based on the results achieved (teaching and research).
- Strengthening the use of applied methods in teaching.
- Regulation of student achievement assessment.
During the seminar, the following results will be achieved:
PFM expertise is transferred to regional institutions
PFM competence of TSUFE tutors is enhanced and linked to practical implementation
TSUFE profile as an academic and research institution on PFM is strengthened
European Union support is demonstrated and increased visibility of EU contribution
