Contribution of customs in ensuring economic security of the country
Under this title, on 26th January of this year on the initiative of the Department of Science and Innovation and the Department of Customs Activities it was held a scientific-practical university seminar dedicated to the 31st Anniversary of the establishment of the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
First, the vice-rector for science, Bahrom Safarov opened the seminar with an opening speech, congratulated the employees of these services on their professional holiday and expressed his opinion about the contribution of the customs authorities to the development of the country's economy. The speaker noted that, in fact, customs is extremely important in the life of every independent state and beyond that, it is considered the gate of every state. Because not only the financial support of various spheres of the state's activity, but also its economic, cultural, ideological and environmental security are closely dependent on the activities of the customs authorities. We contribute to the strengthening of the personnel capacity of this authority by preparing specialists who meet the modern requirements and the establishment of a modern Laboratory of Customs activity lays the foundation for improving the quality of education.
Then, the representatives of the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Manuchehr Mahmadjonov, colonel of the customs service, and Abdukadir Sobirzoda, the major of the customs service, spoke with cheering words about the systems, policies and the current activities of the customs officers.
Then, Saidakmal Mirsaidov, Professor of the Department of Customs activity of TSUFE spoke on the topic "Customs - a regulatory institution of foreign economic activity" and Mirzo Abdulloev, Associate Professor of the Department of Customs activity spoke on the topic "The contribution of customs authorities in the prevention of transnational crimes of extortion and financing of extremist and terrorist organizations."
It was said in the speeches that the Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan created a real basis and background for strengthening the state power, determining the directions of development of a democratic, secular and law-based society.
In order to ensure economic security and protect the economic interests of Tajikistan, organize customs control, prevent illegal drug trade and fight against smuggling it was established the Head Office of Customs Control of the Republic of Tajikistan on January 22, 1991.
Regardless of the political problems and the most sensitive period in the history of the development of Tajik statehood, at the 16th Session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan on November 25, 1992, along with the resolution of the most important political issues, it was adopted and was taken in action the first Customs Code of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Customs Tariff".
The work of the customs authorities has originated from that time and carries out very complex tasks, such as protecting the economic interests of the state, preventing the smuggling of goods, vehicles and other dangerous materials, customs clearance and control, collecting customs fees and keeping customs statistics.
During the 31 years of its operation, the customs authorities have achieved significant success and among other structures of the economic and law enforcement sectors, have made a valuable contribution to the society.
The following veterans and teachers - Firuz Nasriddinov, Saidislam Abdujabborzoda and Firuza Abdulvahidova took part in the discussion and made useful suggestions related to improving the direction of the work of the customs authorities.
In the end, the guests visited the Laboratory of Customs activity of TSUFE and gave it high marks.
