HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF AUDIT AND REVISION

The Department of Audit and Revision was established based on the decision of the Academic Council of the Institute of Finance and Economics of Tajikistan (Decision No. 11/15, 26 May 2014) and Rector’s Order No. 114/I (8 July 2014). The first head of the department was Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor P. J. Orzuyev. The department was later headed by:
— Assoc. Prof. M. I. Sadriddinov (from 2019),
— Assoc. Prof. Yo. E. Tilabov (2020–2025),
— Assistant A. Kh. Barotov (from March 2025).

In 2018, the institute obtained university status, and the department continued functioning under the Faculty of Accounting and Statistics.

The department currently has 10 staff members: 5 Candidates of Economic Sciences (Associate Professors), 1 Senior Lecturer, 3 Assistants, 1 document operator, and 2 additional collaborating staff.

As an important academic and research unit, the department provides education according to national standards and trains qualified specialists in the field of audit. Training is conducted in the specialty 1-250111 “Audit and Revision” at bachelor (full-time and part-time) and master levels.

Since 2015 the department has admitted students to this specialty, and in 2018–2019 the first class of bachelor students graduated. Faculty members teach over 22 subjects and prepare syllabi, teaching materials, test banks, methodological guides, and electronic resources.

The department regularly organizes round-table discussions, seminars, and scientific meetings with participation of experts from supervisory and auditing agencies.

The department maintains cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, the Accounts Chamber of Tajikistan, “Tojiksugurta”, “Sharq-Audit” and relevant departments of national universities.

The department is fully equipped with computers and printers for teaching purposes. Two doctoral candidates — S. Shahnozai and Sh. F. Abdulloeva — are preparing their dissertation defense.

The scientific direction of the department (2018–2022) focuses on improving accounting, analysis, audit, and internal control. The department annually conducts conferences, round tables, scientific seminars, and open lessons.
