The Faculty of World Economy was established on the basis of the Faculty of International Economic Relations of the Tajik State University of Finance and Economics by the decision of the Academic Council of the former Tajik Institute of Finance and Economics No. 56/I dated June 26, 2012, “On the establishment of faculties and departments of the Tajik Institute of Finance and Economics.” The faculty began its activities in the first semester of the 2012–2013 academic year.
Education at the Faculty of World Economy is conducted in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Education,” the Law “On Higher and Postgraduate Professional Education,” the “Model Regulation on Higher Professional Educational Institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan,” and other normative legal acts in the field of education.
The structure of the Faculty of World Economy includes the Faculty Academic Council, the Scientific and Methodological Council, advisors on education and upbringing, the Deputy Dean for Science and International Relations, the Registrar’s Office, the Trade Union Committee, clerical staff, departments, as well as social organizations of the faculty.
The main mission of the Faculty of World Economy is to train highly qualified specialists who meet the requirements of both the domestic and international labor markets. The educational process in the full-time department is organized using modern visual teaching tools and involves professors, associate professors, and experienced lecturers. The learning process is monitored daily through modern surveillance cameras.
The faculty’s teaching staff includes 3 professors (Doctors of Science), 13 associate professors (Candidates of Science), 12 senior lecturers, and 20 assistants. It should be noted that the Faculty of International Economic Relations is staffed with academic degree holders at 42.4%. In particular, the Department of International Financial and Credit Relations — 30%, the Department of World Economy and International Trade — 32%, and the Department of Customs Activities — 30%.
At the Faculty of International Economic Relations, currently, education is provided in the following specialties:

In the daytime department, specialists are trained for various sectors of the economy at the higher education level — bachelor’s degree.
It should be noted that there are 750 students at the faculty studying in two shifts. The daytime department, organized under the credit system, has 41 academic groups. It is also worth noting that foreign students are enrolled in the faculty’s specialties.
Scientific research is an integral part of higher education institutions. At the Faculty of International Economic Relations, research work is conducted under the general topic “Main Directions and Integration of the Economy of Tajikistan into the Global Economy”, consisting of three parts:

Methodological issues of the development of international financial and credit relations in economic integration;

Prospects for the development of the foreign economic activities of the Republic of Tajikistan;

Methodological foundations of state economic regulation.
The faculty has established a Council of Scientists and Young Researchers, who meet according to a work plan to study current economic issues. Additionally, the student club “Zehn” operates under the leadership of the Dean of the Faculty, F.S. Ubaidov, with the secretariat managed by the Deputy Dean for Science and International Relations, G. Sharifzoda.
At the faculty’s specialized departments, student scientific clubs such as “International Business”, “Young Customs Officer”, and “Young International Financiers” are active.
The faculty pays close attention to student organizations, engaging students in extracurricular public activities. Students are most actively involved in youth organizations, student councils, women’s councils, the student trade union, and the cultural and sports section, which are led by active and distinguished students.
The effective functioning of these organizations is largely ensured by the Council of Curators. Additionally, the faculty has a football team composed of students and teachers, actively participating in sports events both on-campus and off-campus.
It is noteworthy that at the Faculty of World Economy, instruction for the specialty “World Economy” is conducted in English, “Customs Services” in Russian, and “Finance and Credit in Foreign Economic Activity” in Russian. All specialized and non-specialized subjects are fully taught in English and Russian.
By the direct initiative of the Rector of the Tajik State University of Finance and Economics, students of the Faculty of International Economic Relations have the opportunity to study at leading global universities and colleges that have partnership agreements with the university.
