Department of University-Wide Natural Sciences

The University-Wide Department of Natural Sciences was established on September 1, 2012, on the basis of the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the Institute of Finance and Economics of Tajikistan (currently the Tajik State University of Finance and Economics), in accordance with an order of the Rector of the Institute, as a university-wide department.

In accordance with Clauses 11 and 12 of Section 1 of the Model Regulations on Higher Professional Education Institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as pursuant to the Rector’s Order of the Institute of Finance and Economics of Tajikistan dated July 8, 2014, No. 113/I “On the Establishment of University-Wide Departments of Natural Sciences and Higher Mathematics,” Clause 4.13 of the Charter of the State Educational Institution “Institute of Finance and Economics of Tajikistan,” and the decision of the Academic Council of IFET dated June 30, 2014, No. 11/19, the department was established as an independent unit.

By Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan dated March 27, 2018, No. 169, the Institute of Finance and Economics of Tajikistan was reorganized into the Tajik State University of Finance and Economics.

Since its establishment, the department has operated in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Charter of the Tajik State University of Finance and Economics, successfully organizing educational, instructional-methodological, research, and educational (student development) activities.

At the University-Wide Department of Natural Sciences, students are taught the following disciplines: Economic Geography of Tajikistan with Fundamentals of Demography, Ecology, and Modern Concepts of Natural Science.

The department carries out its activities in the area of “Teaching natural science disciplines in consideration of the strategic objectives of the country’s economic development.” The department’s disciplines play a significant role in training highly qualified specialists within the university’s existing academic programs.

From the time of its establishment until December 2017, the position of Head of the Department was held by Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Asomuddin Sharifovich Kalandarov. Subsequently, the department was headed by Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor Odiljon Pardaaliyevich Ulugov. In accordance with the Rector’s Order of June 21, 2025, No. 215/m, the duties of Head of the Department of Natural Sciences have been assigned to Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Rano Mirmuhammad Mirmuhammadzoda.
