Department Information

The Department of World Economy was established in 2010 on the material, technical, and personnel basis of the Departments of International Business, Customs Payments, and Currency Control as a structural unit of the Faculty of International Economic Relations at the Tajik Institute of Economics. The need to establish the department is related to the demand for training specialists in international business for companies and associations, commercial banks, investment and pension funds, as well as other enterprises and commercial organizations.

The former Department of Customs Payments and Currency Control was established by the decision of the Academic Council of the institute on August 16, 2004, and was engaged in training specialists in the field of "Customs Affairs Organizer."

The first head and founder of the department was Candidate of Economic Sciences Mirzoev Ibrohim. In 2006, due to moving to another position, Candidate of Economic Sciences Davlatov H.M. was appointed as the head of the department. Since 2007, alongside the specialization "Customs Affairs Organizer," students have also been admitted to the specialization "International Business."

Since its establishment, the department has operated based on educational plans, decisions and instructions of the rector, faculty leadership, decisions of the institute’s academics, and directives from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan. Faculty members of the department have developed educational programs, methodological guides, and syllabi for the department’s specialized subjects. It should be noted that the Department of World Economy trains specialists in accordance with international standards.

SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITIES OF THE DEPARTMENT

The department maintains close scientific collaboration with all research institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan in preparing scientific materials, textbooks, and training specialists. The Department of World Economy also has close cooperation with research and educational institutes of CIS countries and UNESCO.

Department faculty members are regularly selected as official reviewers, and the department, as a leading institution, is represented in the following fields:

In the last 5 years, the department has published 2 textbooks, more than 6 monographs, and 10 educational manuals.

The department hosts a scientific club called the "World Economy Club", where theoretical issues in world economy disciplines are discussed in meetings.

    Currently, the department is one of the leading departments of the university and trains specialists in the following fields:

    1. 25010300 – World Economy: training specialists in international business, export and import managers, foreign market analysts, international trade consultants, employees of ministries and agencies dealing with international economic policy, trade representatives, and specialists in international relations. Depending on their acquired skills, graduates of the "World Economy" program can hold various positions – from specialized analysts to senior managers in international companies and organizations.

    2. 26020202 – International Management: training specialists in sales management, marketing, logistics, HR management, business development, international trade consulting, strategic planning, and international market analysis. Graduates of the "International Management" program can occupy various positions – from analytical specialists to senior management roles in international companies and organizations. They may work in sales, marketing, logistics, finance, human resources, and other departments related to international company operations.

    3. 26020210 – Management in International Tourism: training specialists for tourism companies and services engaged in organizing international travel, hotels catering to foreign tourists, international transport companies (airlines, cruise companies, railway companies), and government tourism authorities involved in the development of international tourism in the country.
