HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT

The Economic analysis Department (now the Economic analysis and statistics Department) has been established by the Decision of the Scientific Council and the Order of the rector of the Finance and Economics Institute of Tajikistan №44-d/n dated 27.08.2012 "On the establishment and structure of departments" on the basis of departments of Business economics (2006-2009), Analytical economics (2009-2010), Labor market and economic analysis (2010-2012), on the basis of the unification of two institutes - the Institute of Economics of Tajikistan and the Tajik Financial Institute and the establishment of the Finance and Economics Institute of Tajikistan, in the structure of the Accounting and Statistics Faculty. Also, in March 2018, by the Decision of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Finance and Economics Institute of Tajikistan was renamed into the Tajik State University of Finance and Economics.

 The Statistics department (now the Economic analysis and statistics department) was established in 2012 as an educational and scientific unit of the Accounting and statistics faculty on the basis of the departments of Accounting and auditing (since 1997), Accounting and statistics (since 2006), Accounting and statistics (since 2009).

 It should be noted that by the Order of the rector of the university on the merger of departments dated September 4, 2023 No. 196/SH, the Department of Economic Analysis and the Department of Statistics were merged and operate under the auspices of the Department of Economic Analysis and Statistics.

Islomov, in 2010-2012, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor A. Urunboev, in 2012-2015, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor R.R. Kudratov, in 2012-2015, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor N.N. Soliev, in 2015-2018, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor B.S. Muzaffarov, in 2018-2021, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor I.S. Fasehzoda, in 2016-2020, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor M.Ch. Burieva in 2021-2022 Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Z.Kh. Imatchoev, and from 2022 to December 2025, Research Fellow, Associate Professor K.K. Shodiev, and from December 18, 2025 until now, Kholov R. Sh.

 Since its establishment, the department has been operating on the basis of the curricula, decisions and instructions of the rector, decisions of the University Academic Council, and instructions of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan. The department's lecturers have developed educational and methodological programs and syllabi in the disciplines of the department. It is worth noting that the Department of Economic Analysis and Statistics trains specialists who meet international standards.

 Currently, the department is considered one of the leading departments of the university and trains specialists in the following fields:

• 1– 25010201– Analytical economics should have the following abilities: grouping and systematizing data for analyzing economic and social indicators of economic entities, developing theoretical and economic models, as well as interpreting their results, using modern programs to solve economic and financial problems, analyzing and interpreting financial data, accounting in the activities of economic entities, making management decisions based on economic and financial data, conducting an analysis of financial statements and substantiating their results, identifying and assessing enterprise risks, conducting audit methodologies and analyzing the results of financial activities in economic entities.

• 1– 25010500 – Statistics, should have the following abilities: solving standard problems of professional activity on the basis of information culture and the use of information and communication technologies in compliance with security requirements, using logical foundations to form a worldview, collecting statistical data, conducting statistical observations using standard methods, developing sampling tools, independently conducting statistical analysis and evaluating results, ensuring the confidentiality of statistical data, developing statistical tables and presenting the results of data processing.

 SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITIES OF THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Economic Analysis and Statistics is a basic department and has signed a cooperation agreement with the State Institution "Economic Research Institute of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan" and the Statistical Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan from 2023 to 2030.

The direction of the department's scientific and research work is "Analysis of conditions and factors affecting the sustainable development of the national economy" (Subject leader: research scientist, Associate Professor Shodiev K.K.) and "Economic and statistical analysis of ensuring the sustainable development of the national economy" (Subject leader: research scientist, Associate Professor Kholov R.Sh.), and the deadline for its implementation is until 2027. 15 teachers of the department, including 1 doctor of economic sciences, professor and 4 researchers, associate professors, participate in the implementation of the scientific and research work plan of the department. The department makes a significant contribution to the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of analytical economics, state regulation of the national economy and statistics, and develops fundamental and practical knowledge in the field of its activities. The department conducts scientific research in accordance with the process of development of the national economy. The department's lecturers have higher qualifications in economics and other issues related to the national economy.

The department's lecturers are constantly selected as official lecturers and the department as a leading institution in the areas of 08.00.04.02 - Economics of the agro-industrial complex; 08.00.03 - Regional and territorial economy; 08.00.06.04 - Organization and management of enterprises, systems and complexes. Over the past 5 years, the department has published 4 textbooks, more than 6 monographs and 10 educational materials.
