Purpose, Key Areas of Activity, and Functions of the Department

The Department was established to implement targeted and integrated measures aimed at enforcing the unified state policy regarding the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Youth and the State Youth Policy” among the students and young staff of the University, as well as to ensure the protection of their rights and interests. The Department carries out its activities directly and in close cooperation with the Committee for Youth and Sports under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as other relevant structures.

The main areas of the Department’s activities at the University include:

  • Developing national identity among youth;

  • Engaging and motivating young people in the pursuit of education;

  • Promoting and encouraging a healthy lifestyle;

  • Developing and implementing the creative potential of students;

  • Involving youth and students in organizational management and leadership in institutions and public organizations;

  • Educating youth in the spirit of respect for national values, writing, language, traditions, and customs of the peoples living in the Republic.

Department Responsibilities

  • Participating in the implementation of the unified state youth policy and contributing to the enforcement of the Law “On Youth and State Youth Policy”;

  • Studying and systematizing proposals and initiatives from students on improving the implementation of this law;

  • Developing and submitting programs and projects to the University Academic Council to improve the living conditions of students, staff, and young scientists;

  • Implementing measures proposed by authorized state bodies in the field of youth affairs and reporting on results;

  • Participating in the development of a unified activity plan for youth departments of secondary and higher educational institutions and submitting quarterly reports;

  • Proposing effective initiatives for scientific-educational, cultural-sports, and other youth activities;

  • Supporting the development of science among students and young scientists and coordinating the activities of the Council of Young Scientists;

  • Strengthening cooperation, unity, and friendship among youth, students, and young researchers;

  • Protecting students’ rights regardless of race, nationality, religion, or social status;

  • Involving students in the management of youth organizations;

  • Educating students to respect national values and sacred traditions;

  • Actively engaging students in political, cultural, and public events;

  • Developing volunteer activities and organizing community service events;

  • Holding various intellectual, cultural, and recreational events, competitions, and contests;

  • Organizing annual university-level stages of national competitions (such as “Student of the Year”), student sports games, and submitting winners for national rounds;

  • Organizing internal competitions for the Presidential Scholarship, the Mayor of Dushanbe Scholarship, and other awards;

  • Organizing weekly sports activities (“Sports Day”) on Saturdays;

  • Organizing student and young staff excursions upon agreement with the Rector;

  • Cooperating with other university structures;

  • Creating student councils, organizations, and associations;

  • Organizing festivals, conferences, meetings, seminars, and scientific events;

  • Ensuring creative cooperation with mass media.

For the purpose of determining the rating of the departments and analyzing various aspects of student life, surveys (questionnaires) are conducted among students, and the results are submitted to the university administration.

The Youth Affairs Department has achieved the following accomplishments during its years of activity:

  1. Every year, students of the university complete the Training School of the Public Organization "Followers of the Leader of the Nation" under the Committee for Youth and Sports Affairs of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and receive diplomas.

  2. After completing the “Women–Leader” training program under the Committee on Women and Family Affairs of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, female students of the university are annually awarded diplomas.

  3. In the 2024 academic year, considering their successful volunteer work, excellent academic performance, participation in various social, cultural, scientific, and innovative events, and publication of analytical articles, 8 students of the university were awarded medals of the CIS Student Association and recognized as the best students of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

  4. In the 2024 academic year, after participating in the competition for the Mayor of Dushanbe Scholarship for students and young researchers, 1 student and 2 young researchers of the university became recipients of this scholarship.

  5. Each year, athletes and students of the university participate in city, republican, regional, and international sports competitions and win honorary medals.

  6. For the second time, the futsal team of the Tajik State University of Finance and Economics won the DEFACTO Cup in the republican futsal tournament among futsal teams of professional and higher educational institutions.

  7. The Youth Affairs Department of TSUFE has been awarded the Diploma of the Committee on Youth and Sports Affairs of the Government of Tajikistan three times in the nomination “Best Youth Affairs Department among higher vocational education institutions”.

The following clubs operate under the Youth Affairs Department: “Followers of the Leader of the Nation”, “Youth — Builders of the Motherland”, and “Avant-garde”, which aim to identify talented youth, encourage discussions on important topics, and provide meaningful leisure activities for students.
