HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF “FINANCE”

The Department of “Finance and Credit” was established as a specialized academic unit based on Rector’s Order No. 3/4 of the former Tajik Institute of Finance dated June 9, 2010, and officially began its activity on September 1, 2010. After the merger of the Tajik Institute of Economics and the Tajik Institute of Finance, the Department of “Finance and Monetary Circulation” was created according to Rector’s Order of the Tajik Institute of Finance and Economics dated 31.08.2012, and began its operation.

The main purpose of establishing the department is to train highly qualified specialists in the field of finance. Currently, the department employs 14 full-time academic staff. The team of 20 members includes professors, associate professors, senior lecturers, and leading specialists in finance. The faculty successfully conducts the educational and training process.

At present, the Department of “Finance” includes:
— 2 Doctors of Science,
— 4 Candidates of Economic Sciences,
— 4 Senior Lecturers,
— 4 Assistants.

The department conducts teaching according to the credit-based education system, which meets international standards.

The Department of “Finance and Monetary Circulation” has educational classrooms for each academic subject, equipped with methodological and teaching materials. Students' independent work is well organized.

A scientific club titled “Young Financiers” operates under the department with the aim of improving students’ academic knowledge and preparing them for research activities. Students, under the guidance of professors and associate professors, present scientific reports, participate in seminars, conferences, university olympiads, and other scientific events.

During its activity, the department has organized various scientific-methodological conferences and round tables on financial, banking, insurance, and investment topics.

The Department of “Finance” of the Faculty of Finance and Credit at the Tajik State University of Finance and Economics is a specialized department and offers courses in Tajik, Russian, and English in accordance with the credit-based education curriculum:
