HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF “ENTERPRISE ECONOMICS AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP”

The Department of Public and Local Administration was established by the decision of the Academic Council of the Tajik Economic Institute dated 29 May 2009, No. 9, and by the Rector’s order dated 18 September 2009, No. 521.

Following the merger of two institutions — the Tajik Economic Institute and the Tajik Finance Institute — a new educational institution was formed under the name Tajik Institute of Finance and Economics. According to Rector Mirboboev R.M.’s order No. 53/i from 25 July 2012, the department was renamed, and on the basis of the former Department of Public and Local Administration, the Department of Economics and Management was established.

Due to the transformation of the State Educational Institution “Tajik Institute of Finance and Economics” into the State Educational Institution “Tajik State University of Finance and Economics” by the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on 25 March 2018, No. 169, and based on the Academic Council decisions dated 31 May 2018, No. 11/5.6, and 30 June 2018, No. 11/5.7, the Department of Economics and Management of the Faculty of Management and Economic Law was renamed the Department of Enterprise Economics and Entrepreneurship and transferred to the Faculty of Economics and Business.

Currently, the Department of Enterprise Economics and Entrepreneurship functions as a specialized academic department.

• Since January 2021 — Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Sunatullo Zubaydulloevich Nuriddinov has been serving as the Head of the Department.

The Department of Enterprise Economics and Entrepreneurship is one of the key academic and scientific units of TSUFE, organizing research, educational, methodological and student development activities, and contributing significantly to the training of highly skilled and competitive specialists for the labor market.

The Department also plays an important role in training academic and research personnel. To date, it has prepared over 20 Candidates of Economic Sciences, 5 Doctors of Philosophy (PhD), and 2 Doctors of Economic Sciences. As of 13 February 2025, three doctoral candidates are attached to the department, and their research work is currently under review.

All teaching assistants of the department have presented and approved the topics of their candidate dissertations and are currently working on them.

In accordance with labor market needs, the department has proposed three new educational programs and is preparing curricula for them:

• 1-25010207 – Economics and Finance of Housing and Communal Services
