FACULTY OF DIGITAL ECONOMY AND INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES

By the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan dated March 27, 2018 No. 169, the Financial and Economic Institute of Tajikistan was transformed into the Tajik State Financial and Economic University. The Faculty of Information Technologies in Economics was established by the decision of the Academic Council of the Financial and Economic Institute of Tajikistan (now the Tajik State Financial and Economic University) under No. 1 dated May 30, 2012 and by order of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan dated May 31.

In connection with the requirements of modern times, the rapid development of information technology and the digitalization of certain industries, the implementation of individual points of the "Concept of the Digital Economy in the Republic of Tajikistan" dated December 30, 2019 No. 642, "The Concept of Digital Education in the Republic of Tajikistan for the Period up to 2042" dated August 31, 2022 No. 439, "Years of Studying and Developing Natural, Exact and Mathematical Sciences in Science and Education (2020-2040)" dated July 30, 2020 No. 427, as well as the announcement of 2025-2030 as "Years of Development of the Digital Economy and Innovation" in the next Address of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, dated December 28, 2024. By the decision of the Academic Council of the University dated February 6, 2025 No. 06/5.3, the name of the Faculty of Information Technologies in Economics was changed to the Faculty of Digital Economy and replaced by the Faculty of Innovative Technologies.

From the year of the faculty's foundation until February 2016, the position of dean of the faculty was occupied by Professor Manzura Rakhmatzhonovna Koshonova. From February 2016 to February 2018, the faculty was headed by Associate Professor Nuralizoda Amrullo Nazrullo, during which time the faculty achieved significant results. From February 2018 to February 2022, the position of dean of the faculty was occupied by Associate Professor Nematov Ilkhomiddin Usmonovich.

Since February 15, 2022, the position of dean of the Faculty of Digital Economy and Innovative Technologies has been occupied by Associate Professor, сandidate of physical and mathematical eciences Temurbekova Sofya Davronbekovna.

 The Faculty of Digital Economy and Innovative Technologies trains highly qualified specialists in accordance with the requirements of the labor market. Currently, the faculty has basic departments of digital economy and logistics, applied informatics in economics, information and innovative systems in economics, which train specialists in accordance with modern conditions of the labor market in the following specialties:

 Based on the listed specialties, personnel are trained for the sectors of the national economy of the country with a bachelor's degree in higher education. In recent years, on the direct initiative of the university management, the faculty has begun admitting students to the master's program in the field of "Information Technologies and Systems in Economics". It is important to note that since the founding of the institution and to this day, the Faculty of Digital Economy and Innovative Technologies has graduated many specialists in the current specialties of full-time and correspondence courses, whose graduates work in various sectors of the country's economy. The material and technical base of the faculty is also improving from year to year.

Modern electronic boards are installed in the classrooms, and teachers conduct classes with students using modern teaching methods (slides). The faculty has 4 computer labs with electronic boards and projectors, which allows for practical laboratory classes in specialized disciplines. It should be noted that 60% of the faculty's teaching staff are teachers with academic degrees. The faculty pays great attention to the training of scientific personnel, annually publishes the results of its scientific research in peer-reviewed domestic and foreign journals, collections of scientific and research papers of the university and international conferences, as well as in domestic and foreign journals.

It is worth noting that students of the faculty take an active part in competitions and Olympiads of various levels and invariably take prize places. During this time, he participated in the republican contest "Science - the fruit of enlightenment" for 3 consecutive years, winning 2nd and 3rd places in the mathematics and technological nominations.

 Department of Digital Economy and Logistics

The Department of Digital Economy and Logistics is a specialized department that trains highly qualified specialists who meet the requirements of the domestic and global labor market in the fields of economic and mathematical modeling, logistics, digital economy, information technology for management and financial systems. The department has a research program, within the framework of which the teachers of the department are engaged in research and analysis of various aspects of economic and mathematical modeling, logistics issues, digitalization of individual sectors of the country's economy. In order to expand educational and scientific ties, enter a single educational space, expand cooperation with higher education institutions abroad, some of the teachers have undergone advanced training at universities in the USA, Germany, and Ukraine. In this regard, the teachers of the department cooperate within the framework of European Union projects on public finance management, analysis of micro- and macroeconomic indicators using mathematical and economic modeling, the results of which contribute to the development of educational and scientific work, improvement of theoretical, practical and internship knowledge of students. In order to improve the skills and abilities of students, increase their level of knowledge, and involve them in scientific research, the department has a student scientific circle, “Young Modelers,” which plays a significant role in improving the qualifications and professionalism of students.

Department of Information and Innovation Systems in Economics

 The organization and development of the department are directly related to the establishment of the Tajik State University of Finance and Economics. The department has always had a special status at the faculty of digital economy and innovation technologies, being a center for training personnel and scientific research in one of the main areas of the economic information system. The main advantage of this department is that, first of all, its personnel are in demand in the country's information technology market and perform key tasks to ensure the stability of various sectors of the economy and the social sphere of the country. Since its establishment, the Department of Information and Innovation Systems in Economics has been closely cooperating with government and commercial organizations of the country, training specialists in the necessary areas. At the same time, in order to more effectively organize the direction of education and science, the department invites specialists from third-party organizations and institutions to conduct classes. It is worth noting that the department has established cooperation with various domestic and foreign journals to improve the research work of its teachers.

 Department of applied informatics in economics

The Department of Applied Informatics in Economics is a specialized department that trains students in the specialties of economic informatics and computer security. The mission of the department is to ensure the educational process of the university in the field of information technology and programming in the field of economics. The staff potential of the department are 8 teachers, including 5 candidates of economic sciences and candidates of physical and mathematical sciences. All employees  of the department have practical experience in the field of information technology, communications and programming. The teachers of the department took an active part in foreign programs DigEco and ERASMEUS, as well as advanced training courses, received certificates. In order to expand educational and scientific ties, enter a single educational space, expand cooperation with higher educational institutions of the far abroad, some of the teachers underwent advanced training in universities of the Russian Federation, Germany, the Republic of India, and Central Asian countries. The department is considered one of the leading departments of the university, training specialists in the specialties 1-25011200 - economic informatics and 1-98010101 - computer security. Graduates of the specialty "Economic informatics" can get the profession of an economist-informatician and work in the areas of data processing center economist, economist, logistics economist, accounting economist. Specialty 1-98010101 - computer security, trains specialists in the specialties of "ERP-system programming", "administrator" or "database developer", "information security engineer". Graduates of the specialty of the department work in the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan and other domestic and foreign companies.
