On September 9, 1991, Tajikistan declared its independence. Since that historic day, our country has followed its own path of development and has worked to build a peaceful, strong, and prosperous nation.

Independence is of great importance to every nation. It gives the people of Tajikistan the opportunity to preserve and develop their language, culture, history, and national traditions. It also enables our country to strengthen friendly relations and cooperation with other nations. The National Flag, the National Emblem, and the National Anthem are important symbols of our independent state and reflect the unity, dignity, and national identity of the Tajik people.

We should love our Motherland, study well, learn about our history and culture, and contribute to the future development of Tajikistan. Learning foreign languages is also an important responsibility for young people in an independent country. Knowledge of English and other foreign languages helps us communicate with people from different countries, gain access to modern science and technology, and proudly represent Tajikistan on the international stage. By becoming educated, skilled, and open-minded citizens, young people can use their knowledge and abilities to support the development of the country and build a brighter future for Tajikistan.

It is a matter of pride and great importance that independent Tajikistan is a member of the United Nations. Membership in this prestigious international organization provides our country with an important platform to present Tajikistan to the world, promote its national interests, strengthen international cooperation, and familiarize the international community with the ancient history, rich culture, traditions, and achievements of the Tajik people.

After gaining independence, Tajikistan began developing various sectors of society, attracting foreign investment, and establishing friendly and mutually beneficial relations with countries around the world. These processes increased the need for specialists who have a good command of foreign languages, particularly English. As a result, greater attention has been paid to foreign-language education. Language courses have been organized at various enterprises and institutions with the involvement of qualified teachers. Today, English is taught not only in secondary schools and higher educational institutions but is also increasingly introduced at earlier stages of education.

The Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, has repeatedly emphasized the importance of education and foreign-language learning, particularly among young people and students. Young people are encouraged to pay serious attention to learning foreign languages, including English, because the development of the country and its growing international relations require highly qualified specialists who are able to communicate effectively with representatives of other nations.

Knowledge of foreign languages is also essential for those who wish to study abroad, participate in international educational programs, conduct scientific research, and become familiar with the achievements of other countries. Foreign languages provide access to a vast amount of information in such important fields as economics, science, medicine, education, information technology, engineering, and modern technologies. They also enable young people to keep pace with global developments and benefit from international experience.

At the same time, learning foreign languages does not mean forgetting our mother tongue or national values. On the contrary, a person who knows several languages has greater opportunities to introduce the Tajik language, culture, history, and traditions to people from other countries. In this way, knowledge of foreign languages can serve as a bridge between Tajikistan and the wider world while strengthening mutual understanding, friendship, and cooperation among nations.

Independence Day is more than a celebration of freedom, unity, peace, and national pride. It is also a reminder that the future of Tajikistan depends greatly on the knowledge, responsibility, and efforts of its younger generation. By learning foreign languages, respecting our national values, gaining useful knowledge, and developing professional skills, young people can contribute to the protection of our independence and to the progress and prosperity of our homeland.

May every young citizen carry the spirit of independence in their heart and work with knowledge, hope, responsibility, and determination for a peaceful, prosperous, and stronger Tajikistan.
